SET-PED Co-Design Workshop – First Step Completed

On October 24th, 2025, Urbasofia, along the 6th District of Bucharest's City Council, hosted the very first co-design workshop of the SET-PED project, marking an important milestone in developing the prototype for our smart and sustainable urban furniture.

The event offered the perfect setting for collaboration, creativity, and exploration, bringing together diverse perspectives to envision more livable and inclusive public spaces along Lacul Morii promenade.

What We Explored

Throughout the workshop, participants worked on identifying potential locations for implementing the prototype and co-creating ideas for improving the spatial experience of the lakeside area. The day unfolded in two key stages:

1️⃣ Site Visit – Field Exploration

We began with an on-site walkthrough of two proposed areas around Lacul Morii. This allowed participants to better understand the context, challenges, and opportunities of the public space.

2️⃣ Design Workshop at Conacul Golescu

After the field visit, we continued with a hands-on co-creation session at Conacul Golescu. Working in teams, participants developed concepts, sketched ideas, and reflected on how sustainable urban furniture can enhance both functionality and community experience.

Fresh Perspectives from Future Urban Planners

We were especially thrilled to have students from the Faculty of Urban Planning joining us. Their innovative thinking, curiosity, and creative input significantly enriched the outcomes of the workshop.

Thank You!

A warm thank you to everyone who took part in this first step of the co-design journey. Your energy, ideas, and collaboration bring us closer to designing urban spaces that are not only smart and sustainable, but also welcoming and inclusive.

Together, we’re shaping the future of public spaces — one prototype at a time!
